Moto-Va-Tir[e] (MVT) is a patented, patent pending, trademarked motorcycle tire changing tool that will assist mechanics & amateur/professional racers change their tire/wheel (hereafter T/W) combination quickly. The MVT will assist in changing the T/W while the motorcycle is mounted on front &/or rear motorcycle stands. US Patent No. 8,720,522 B2 & Patent Pending.
The challenge for motorcyclists, motorcycle professional/home mechanics, amateur/professional racers has been mounting the T/W with spacers, axle, brake(s), speedometer gear & balancing these all while attempting to install the T/W. The MVT provides a base that adjusts for the width of the T/W & the height of the axle in the front forks or rear swingarm while the bike is on front &/or rear bike stand(s) &/or a center stand. The chassis of the MVT is on wheels that allows the MVT to be rolled to the location required. The inventor struggled for years as a home mechanic & at the race track to change the T/W in a quick, efficient manner. Other inventors have invented T/W changing tools that merely lifted the tire in place but only for the back wheel & didn't grip & firmly hold the tire or spacers.
Motorcyclists, amateur/professional motorcycle racers & professional/home mechanics worldwide will want & need the MVT. Motorcycles are the main form of transportation in much of the world--many owners prefer or can't afford to have a shop change their T/W. The market size is in the millions with a growth rate that will expand rapidly by utilizing reviews in motorcycle magazines, use by motorcycle professional/home mechanics, motorcycle racers & teams & amateurs during track days. After initial positive magazine reviews & use by racers, advertising in motorcycle magazines & websites will further promote & sell the MVT worldwide.
The MVT' is the only T/W changing motorcycle tool that works easily with both the front & rear tires. The MVT adjusts for width of the T/W & adjusts for height to allow for differing heights of motorcycle front & rear stands & center stands as well as different front fork & rear swingarm conditions.
Additionally, the MVT holds the wheel spacers tight to the T/W on a mobile carriage with a fake knockout axle in place of the real axle with swing arms that rotate up from the carriage to hold the T/W & spacers in place. The carriage is spring loaded & adjusts for different widths of T/W & can utilize a manual wrench/electric drill controlled height adjustment at the back of the carriage that makes the MVT flexible for any conditions. Race mechanics can prep T/W for quick changes during races that will eliminate bike damage.
The Moto-Va-Tir[e] was submitted for the initial patent in 2011 & the patent granted by the Unites States Patent & Trademark Office in 2014. A second patent has been applied for from the USPTO in early 2020 because the Moto-Va-Tir[e] has been refined over the past 6 years to be much more efficient in the changing of the motorcycle tire/wheel combination either during motorcycle race situations, track day events & shop or home garages.
The Moto-Va-Tir[e] has won two awards: one from the University of Alaska Anchorage National Academy of Inventors on September 28, 2019 & the other from the Anchorage Daily News Achievement In Business Awards in June 2019.
The inventor has produced 7 prototypes of the MVT and has successfully utilized them all. The most recent prototype is the most successful, efficient & saves the most time in changing the T/W.
