The inventor, Sam Combs, AIA, NCARB, Architect began his motorcycling career at the age of 14 with a 1967 Moto Guzzi Dingo Cross 50 cc in Florence, Italy in the fall of 1966 and has continued to this day. The bike gave Sam the freedom to explore the streets of Florence and the hills around Florence and was the thing that a young teenager needed to explore the world.
Sam raced various motorcycles at Tanacross, Alaska for over 19 racing seasons and needed a way to change a Tire/Wheel(T/W) efficiently and quickly during a race situation and also in his home garage. Changing a T/W has always involved a lot of trial and mostly error as you balance the T/W on boards, try to keep the spacers/washers in place while positioning theT/W in place, getting the axle hole to the correct height and getting the brake caliper(s) and speedometer gear in place all at the same time. Then when you get everything in place, that one washer mysteriously ends up falling out and to the garage floor or paddock. The Moto-Va-Tir[e] solves this as delineated on these web site pages.
Sam is a Historic Preservation Architect who has practiced Architecture (and one day may get it all right!) for over 4 decades. If you are interested in seeing what his Architectural career has involved at. http://www.combsandcombsaia.com
